01. Who is this course for?
1. Who is this course for
Anyone that wants to have fun and make a Christmas cookie in a jar gift.
Multiply courses are designed for learners who don't already have a L2 maths qualification. Learners with a L2 maths qualification (GCSE Grade 4-9 or A-C or equivalent such as Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Functional Skills) will need to do a quick assessment before joining the course; please speak to our Business Support team to arrange this.
Learners need to aged 19 and above by the course start date.
PLEASE NOTE: - If learner has attended the "Have a go month Cookie in the Jar course" they cannot enrol onto the Halloween or Christmas Cookie in the jar as these are the same courses, criteria and material. Also please note if they enrol onto the Halloween Cookie in a jar course they cannot then enrol onto the Christmas Cookie in a jar course.

02. What will I learn?
This course is designed for you to have fun and develop your maths skills, as well as how to make a Christmas cookie in a jar gift. You will learn how to cost ingredients and the recipe, such as cost per gram/millilitre. Along with learning how to save money and reduce food wastage. It will help you make better choices when looking for offers in the supermarket and whether it is best to buy readymade gifts or make your own gifts.

03. How will I learn?
You will be given a recipe, ingredients and material to use free of charge and you will prepare these ingredients during the session to make a Christmassy gift, the ingredients and material will need to be weighed and measured. Group discussions will take place and you will be able to share ideas and tips. You will learn to cost the recipe and the individual ingredients. You will be supported by the tutor and given guidance and feedback at all sessions.

04. What will I need to bring?
A pen and notepad would be useful. A bag to carry your gift home in. All ingredients and equipment will be provided.

05. What skills or experience do I need?
No prior learning is required for this course, this course is designed to support you with developing your maths skills along with having fun, meeting new people and gaining confidence along with learning to save money and reduce food waste.

06. How will I be assessed?
You will be observed during the session during the preparation of the ingredients such as weighing and measuring, although this is not an accredited course you will be given feedback during the session relating to your progress. Guidance will be given during the costing activities also.

07. What could I do after this course?
You may wish to do other courses we offer after this course and you will be kept up to date of up-and-coming courses, our aim is that you will gain confidence with numeracy and progress onto a functional skills Maths course, however there are many other courses that are on offer.

08. How will I be supported in my learning?
Tutors are on hand during each session to guide and support you and give you any advice and guidance you require.
