More information about this Course


01. Who is this course for?
This is a tap class for learners who have experience with tap dance and can tap both as a group participant and also have the ability to work alone if necessary. You may already have these skills or have completed the Intermediate Level tap course previously.

02. What will I learn?
The course focuses on learning specific set exercises along with various timesteps, amalgamations and choreographed dances. Course summary: Warm-up and shuffle exercises Travelling compound steps Timesteps Pick-ups New skills Amalgamations Course Dance

04. What will I need to bring?
A comfortable pair of tap shoes Comfortable clothing to move in A drink of water A towel (Maybe!!)

05. What skills or experience do I need?
You need to be confident with your tap work, and be able to demonstrate single, double and triple shuffle and pick up timesteps efficiently. You must have the ability to work both alone and as a group member.

06. How will I be assessed?
The tutor will give individual and group feedback throughout the sessions. Each learner has an ILP (Individual learning plan) containing learning outcomes to be achieved throughout the course, there is also written feedback from learner and tutor during the course. The tutor is also always available to discuss your progress on a 1-1 if you need support, either at the start or end of the sessions. Please always ask, tutor has a very open door policy. Many learners book holidays during the length of their courses and whilst we realise this is personal choice, please consider that missed lessons can affect funding for adult learning courses. This may impact on us being able to offer similar courses in the future.

08. How will I be supported in my learning?
Once you start, if you have further queries and/or support needs, please talk to the tutor. We also offer support to help people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. If you have a disability, learning difficulty, health problem or mental health difficulty that may affect your learning or participation, please contact us for further advice.
