Course Summary
A course designed for students with some experience of painting and/or drawing.   Composition, colour theory, colour mixing, perspective, techniques with various media and more are discussed, aiming to develop skills and understanding.   Students are encouraged to look at the work of artists past and contemporary.   Subject matter and medium are chosen by the student.   The use of sketchbooks is encouraged in order to both improve observation and consider options in developing work.   Students work in their own way - traditional, abstract, illustration etc and feedback and advice is given.   There will be short demonstrations of points made as relevant and work on the computer and in books shared.   Occasionally there are optional class trips to exhibitions on a non-class day.
