01. Who is this course for?
This non-accredited course is designed to give learners a brief introduction to D/deaf awareness and British Sign Language and help you to communicate better with someone who is D/deaf. The course consists of topics such as: • Deafness and hearing loss • Communication tips • Fingerspelling • some basic signs

02. What will I learn?
• To learn basic British Sign Language such as greetings and fingerspelling • Giving learners an insight into d/Deafness and how to communicate better with a d/Deaf person.

03. How will I learn?
Feedback from the tutor during class.

04. What will I need to bring?
A pen and paper to make notes. Access to the internet and a phone/ laptop/ tablet is useful to access Moodle- our online learning platform full of resources- but not essential.

05. What skills or experience do I need?
None- you simply need an interest in BSL and the d/ Deaf community and a willingness to have a go!
