01. Who is this course for?
The Pre-GCSE English course is designed to give you an insight into the contents and outcomes of a full GCSE course. You will experience a taster of some GCSE English topics, as well as discover details relating to GCSE grading and exams. For online courses: The course consists of an induction into distance learning, how to use our systems and how to work online. Each session will consist partly of interactive sessions and of independent work, to be uploaded to online virtual learning space- Moodle- for which you will receive feedback from your tutor. It is expected that you will have internet access, be available at set times and have the use of appropriate facilities such as a laptop, PC or tablet to interact with the course tutor and other members of the course.

03. How will I learn?
At the end of the course, you will take an assessment that will help you make decisions about starting the full online GCSE English course in September. If your skills are not quite ready for GCSE English, you will be signposted to other courses to support your skills and knowledge.

06. How will I be assessed?
This is a non-accredited taster session, in preparation for the full GCSE English Language qualification with AQA.

We offer support to help people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
