01. Who is this course for?
This 28 week classroom course builds on Level 1 Part 2, aiming to consolidate existing knowledge and develop confidence and fluency when communicating in your chosen language. The course will broaden your knowledge, vocabulary and structures using more complex present, past and future tenses and conditional forms, to extend your conversational (speaking & listening), reading and writing skills. It will build on the topics covered in the previous course such as personal information, future plans and past holidays, and it will develop your confidence when reading and understanding formal letters, holiday brochures and tourist information leaflets. You will use a variety of learning materials such as DVDs, CDs, practical activities, games, books and the internet to improve confidence in your language skills.

02. What will I learn?
To enable you to take part in discussions on a variety of common topics with growing confidence to use a range of vocabulary and structures in order to express opinions and communicate ideas accurately. To enable you to identify the overall meaning of information, ideas and opinions. To develop your grammatical knowledge in your chosen language in order to develop greater fluency and accuracy in your language skills. To participate in small group discussions on topics you choose (e. g. current affairs, travel, cultural and social aspects of the country), To understanding native speakers through use of the internet etc. and authentic text.

03. How will I learn?
Regular dialogue with your tutor. Class activities including group and paired work, role play, interactive activities and language games. Spoken and/or written exercises with feedback from your tutor. Monitoring of progress against learning aims to be agreed with your tutor

04. What will I need to bring?
A4 folder to store handouts, notes, vocabulary and worksheets. A dictionary could be useful but is not essential – please talk to your tutor.

05. What skills or experience do I need?
You should have completed a Level 1 Part 2 course in your chosen language or have had an alternative equivalent experience of the language. N. B. Please refer to description of different language levels in the course brochure.     A certain amount of time for self-study is suggested between lessons to help with progression and to reinforce your learning.

06. How will I be assessed?
This course will be accredited with the Skills and Education Group Language Awards, through general class activities and tasks.

08. How will I be supported in my learning?
