01. Who is this course for?
In the Developing Reading and Writing Skills course, you will work with your tutor to develop an Individual Learning Plan based on your interests and needs. The course will help you to develop your confidence and skills in reading, writing, and spelling enabling you to complete everyday tasks such as reading instructions, filling in forms and writing notes/emails.

03. How will I learn?
Your tutor will have regular conversations with you to review your progress and this will be recorded in your Individual Learning Plan. You will also be able to recognise the growth in your skills and confidence as you become more able to complete everyday tasks. When completing homework tasks, these will be assessed by your tutor, to support areas of strength and development.

04. What will I need to bring?
A pen, A4 pad of paper and A4 ring binder folder for your work.

05. What skills or experience do I need?
No qualifications are required, and this course is open to all learners; however, if English is not your first language please refer to our ESOL curriculum first, as these may be more suitable. You will be expected to attend every week and the minimum attendance requirement is 80%.

08. How will I be supported in my learning?
We offer support to help people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. If you have a disability, learning difficulty, health problem or mental health difficulty that may affect your learning or participation, please contact us for further advice. Once you start, if you have further queries and/or support needs, please talk to the tutor.
