01. Who is this course for?
This course is suitable to anyone who has some tap dancing skills and knowledge. During the course learners will have the opportunity to develop and improve their rhythm and technical tap skills through taught choreographed routines and amalgamations, with support and demonstrations from the tutor. Learners can also try their own tap choreography – either choreographing for themselves or for other learners. The course will include experimenting with different techniques, styles and rhythms, developing performance skills using props and increasing muscle memory. The focus of the course is improving health and wellbeing, as well as developing skills and ability.

02. What will I learn?
Increasing general fitness, confidence and a feeling of wellbeing through tap dancing in a fun and supportive environment. Developing existing tap dancing skills and performance skills through choreographed routines and more complex rhythms.

03. How will I learn?
Written & photographic records · Feedback from the tutor · One to one and group discussions. Peer assessment. Completion of an Individual Learning Plan, to evidence progress and achievement.

04. What will I need to bring?
Wear comfortable clothing and well-maintained tap shoes e.g. no protruding screws. Towel and water bottle.

05. What skills or experience do I need?
Some experience, knowledge and skills of tap dancing is required for this course. This course is not suitable for complete beginners.

08. How will I be supported in my learning?
Once you start, if you have further queries and/or support needs, please talk to the tutor. We also offer support to help people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. If you have a disability, learning difficulty, health problem or mental health difficulty that may affect your learning or participation, please contact us for further advice.
