01. Who is this course for?
This course is for learners who have some experience of drawing and painting and enjoy exploring ideas and materials. There will be the chance to follow tutor led ideas and demonstrations combined also with the opportunity to work independently. The course will include working on art projects of your choice with the chance to be supported in this and discuss and share your ideas with others. It also will include experimenting with different materials and techniques, learning about the work of other artists, following tutor led and group generated ideas and topics, whilst also being encouraged to pursue your own ideas.

02. What will I learn?
Exploring drawing and painting media
Develop drawing and painting skills and techniques
Increase knowledge of other art and artists
Develop independence in own art practice
Generate ideas to inspire own art

03. How will I learn?
Instruction and some demonstration will be given, plus the chance to discuss your ideas and get feedback on them. Support from the tutor will be provided as you work, plus a chance to reflect and evaluate your learning and experiences using an Individual Learning Plan (ILP)

04. What will I need to bring?
Art materials that are relevant to the art you wish to create.
Advisable – selection of graphite pencils, paints, cartridge paper, paper suitable for the media you work in.

05. What skills or experience do I need?
Some experience and awareness of art is desired. This is a workshop environment which means that learners are encouraged to become independent artists and to explore their own ideas, plus learn from each other as well as seek advice from the tutor.

08. How will I be supported in my learning?
Once you start, if you have further queries and/or support needs, please talk to the tutor. We also offer support to help people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. If you have a disability, learning difficulty, health problem or mental health difficulty that may affect your learning or participation, please contact us for further advice.
