01. Who is this course for?
This course is for the learner who has some basic skills in drawing skills, use of tone and shading, mixing and application of paint. This is a workshop environment so there will be opportunities to follow tutor led ideas and demonstrations combined with independent work on art projects of your choice. The course will include experimenting with different materials and techniques. Providing helpful insight into using colour, design, working from your own reference photograph, and observing from real life. There is also some research into artists and a chance to study their work. It is a chance to learn something new in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

02. What will I learn?
Exploring drawing & painting media · Developing observation skills · Developing drawing skills · Developing painting techniques · Design & composition · Working from your own photos and real life working on own projects. Researching artists and studying their work.

03. How will I learn?
Written & photographic records · Feedback from the tutor · One to one & group discussions. Learners will be asked to complete an Individual Learning Plan to evidence their progress.

04. What will I need to bring?
Any graphite Pencils (B,2B,6B etc), charcoal, paints, cartridge paper, or watercolour paper, that you already have.

Some basic knowledge and skills needed

Additional Costs And/Or Resources:
You will need a selection of pencils, paints and papers for this course. Your Tutor will advise you on at the first session what you will need each term. An A4 ring binder folder will also be useful to store handouts and a sketchbook to work in and create a record of your work.
